A Ten Desires Lunatic run done in 19 minutes and 49 seconds. Ten desires features a mechanic called "trancing". It allows the player to become invincible, deal lots of damage, be more fast and much more. This ability is particularly interesting when trying to speedrun the game since this allows you to be more creative with routing bosses. The game provides you with just enough resources to bomb and trance through every boss pattern. The stages are very route-heavy, meaning little to no mistakes must be made in order to get a proper time. Ten Desires is the most fun I have had when speedrunning the game: the third mechanic makes it so much more interesting, the little resources means you must be economical with your resources and plan on where to use it. On top of which, the way to gain lives and bombs are also unique.
