While initially, the forbidden art would seem useless during the eclipse, I’d argue a time when the sun is blocked by the moon and things with the spirit world are made a bit wonky would be a perfect time for Katara to regress to and possibly evolve the technique to perform Yakkon’s moonless bloodbending or possibly even his psychic form if she were to practice hard enough as in the face of defeat and separation with her father and comrades again I think Katara would be fully willing to given into the hatred that fueled her to nearly take revenge against her mother’s killers.
