We all think of Santa Claus as "Jolly old St. Nick". But who knew that he has a dark hidden past that's very un-jolly? This short film uncovers and explores Santa's flirtation with politics and greed. Another Bill Plympton "Lost Classic", this one's being uploaded just in time for Christmas! It was animated in the style of an old newsreel from the 1940's, and it's narrated by the great Matthew Modine! This short premiered at the World of Comedy Film Festival in Toronto in 2009, and then played at Aspen Shortsfest, the Nashville Film Festival, the Annecy Animation Festival, the Woodstock Film Festival, the St. Louis International Film Festival, the Seattle International Film Festival, and it received an Annie Award nomination for Best Animated Short.
