JUST IN: Chinese cargo spacecraft Tianzhou 5 departed Tiangong Space Station (CSS) for controlled re-entry on Sept 12. Most of it was burnt up, with minor debris splashing in South Pacific. Tianzhou 5 was launched in Nov 2022 with supplies for Shenzhou-15 astronauts & tech payloads. 🛰️ cargo spacecraft successfully completed its mission, reentering Earth's atmosphere as planned. In addition to resupply and refueling tasks, the cargo ship carried several cutting-edge experimental payloads to the space station, which have been working well.
