And who knows, I may end up being Kotobukiya's next mascot! Wee! Anyhow, Comic Market, or Comiket for short, is a super famous Japanese anime/manga convention dedicated to doujin, which is basically like a fan art convention. However, don't underestimate these super artists! A lot of them are professionals and some of these original series may even become an anime (like Higurashi no Naku koro ni!)
