After removing the Impulse from its product portfolio, Hero MotoCorp filled the void with the addition of a higher displacement ADV motorcycle, the XPulse 200. Unlike the Impulse, the new XPulse is an adventure tourer motorcycle. The company had first unveiled the motorcycle at the 2017 EICMA Show in Italy. The XPulse 200 carries forward the legacy of the Impulse, but it is more accessible and more purposeful. The motorcycle has been updated to comply with the newest, more stringent emission norms. True to its adventurous nature, the XPulse 200 is equipped with spoke-wheels, high-rise front mudguard, fork gaiters, bash plate, dual-purpose tyres and an upswept exhaust. The motorcycle rides on 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels. Suspension duties are carried out by telescopic units on the front with 190mm of travel and 10-step adjustable mono-shock at the rear with 170mm of travel. The motorcycle has a seat height of 823mm and a high ground clearance of 220mm. For braking, the XPulse 200 employs disc brakes on both ends along with a single-channel ABS. On the tech front, the motorcycle incorporates a full-LED headlamp and a digital instrument cluster complete with Bluetooth connectivity for navigation and call alerts. It boasts of a 14-litre fuel tank capacity. Powering the XPulse 200 BS6 is a 199.6cc, single-cylinder engine that now features an oil-cooled setup instead of the air-cooled layout on the BS4 model. The updated motor produces 17.8bhp of power at 8,500rpm and 16.45Nm of torque at 6,500rpm. The engine is mated to a five-speed gearbox. Hero offers the XPulse 200 BS6 in a single variant with fuel-injection. The carburettor version has been discontinued. In terms of colour options, the motorcycle is available in five colours – White, Matte Green, Matte Grey, Sports Red and Panther Black.
