Practical Networking's video: Everything Switches do - Part 1 - Networking Fundamentals - Lesson 4

@Everything Switches do - Part 1 - Networking Fundamentals - Lesson 4
Switching is the process of facilitating communication within a network. Switches are simply device's whose primary purpose is Switching. This definition is intentionally worded as such because there are many devices that claim to do "switching" -- and all of those devices will follow the same rules and processes that Switches do to facilitate communication within a network. In this video we discuss Switches as L2 devices, MAC address tables, and the three fundamental switch actions: Learning, Flooding, Forwarding. We then compare and contrast the act of sending data THROUGH a switch vs sending data TO a switch. === Networking Fundamentals - Module 1 === Lesson 1 - Network Devices Part 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bj-Yfakjllc Part 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7-NR3Q3BeI Lesson 2 - OSI Model Part 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LkolbURrtTs Part 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0aGqGKrRE0g Lesson 3 - Everything Hosts to do speak on the Internet Part 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gYN2qN11-wE Part 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JI9Zm2tbUoE Lesson 4 - Everything Switches do to facilitate communication Part 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AhOU2eOpmX0 Part 2: In development https://www.practicalnetworking.net/index/networking-fundamentals-how-data-moves-through-the-internet/
