Preston Bernsteen's video: Climbing Arizona s Tallest Mountain Solo

@Climbing Arizona’s Tallest Mountain Solo
Standing 12,633ft tall, and located deep within the Coconino National Forest, Humphrey's Peak is the tallest mountain summit in Arizona. I took my time on the way to the top to show as much of the landscape as possible. Overall, spending two nights and three days on the mountain. It was quite the experience being my first time solo camping in the constantly changing weather conditions at elevation (from 70 to 30 degrees over the day/night). For the second night on the mountain, I had to build a warmer, more comfortable shelter to make it through. A word of advice on camping here: there are hardly any flat areas on the mountain to pitch, and you must bring your own water (no sources to purify up there). To anyone looking to do the hike in a day: it can be completed in 6-10hrs depending how fast you travel, making a complete daylight trek possible. BUT if you are willing to brave a trek back down the mountain in the dark, I HIGHLY encourage you plan to summit at sunset. The views were absolutely phenomenal in the orange-colored sky (despite the wildfires in California creating a substantial amount of smoke) and I was the only one at the summit. This was an awesome feeling, knowing I was, even if just for a moment, the *literally* highest person in Arizona. Anyway, enjoy the video, and thanks for watching!
