@Baboon Release 2014: Foraging with wildlife.
KC troop were released by The Centre for Animal Rehabilitation and Education, C.A.R.E. (PrimateCare) in October 2014. Managing Director of C.A.R.E., Stephen Munro (BSc. Animal Care), previous to his present role was employed via IFAW as C.A.R.E.'s Release Manager. Stephen still with the most knowledge and experience spends 24/7 with the release troop ensuring their safety, collecting data and facilitating the release process. He will stay with the troop anywhere between 3.5-6 months until he is happy the troop are wild. So far so good. KC troop consist of the first baboons Stephen hand-raised in 2004. C.A.R.E.'s first release took place in 1994 led by C.A.R.E.'s late founder Rita Miljo. Twenty years later, in 2014, Stephen Munro carries on Rita's pioneering work to put baboons back into the wild where they belong. Want to help?
