Hi in this video we can see how to make Chana Kurma/Sundal Kurma in Tamil.
CHANA KURMA | SUNDAL KURMA | CHICKPEAS CURRY
INGREDIENTS
chickpeas - 1 cup
onion - 2
tomato - 1
peanut - 2 tbsp
green chili - 1
pepper corn - ¼ tsp
cumin - ½ tsp
fennel - ½ tsp
grated coconut - ½ cup
chili powder - ½ tsp
kashmiri chili powder - 1 tsp
coriander powder - 1½ tsp
garam masala - ½ tsp
turmeric powder - ¼ tsp
small piece cinnamon
cloves - 2
garlic cloves - 5
ginger
coriander leaves
water
oil
salt
METHOD OF PREPARATION
1.In a cooker, heat some oil,add small pieces of cinnamon and 2 cloves.And saute 2 onions until it becomes golden brown.
2.In a mixy jar take 1 tomato,1green chili,5 garlic cloves,small piece ginger,½ tsp cumin and ½ tsp fennel.Grind it a nice smooth paste.
3.When the onions become golden add the tomato paste with 1 tsp kashmiri chili powder,½ tsp chili powder,1½ tsp coriander powder,½ tsp garam masala and ¼ tsp turmeric powder.Saute until the raw smell of spices goes.
4.In a mixy jar take ½ cup grated coconut and 2 tbsp peanut.Grind them.
5.Add 1 cup chickpeas (soaked overnight).Mix well with required salt.Add the coconut paste also.
6.Add required water and cook on low flame until 5 whistle.Add few coriander leaves.
7.Open the pressure cooker once the pressure goes.You can adjust the consistency of the gravy by adding coconut milk/cow milk/water.
