Kali river was flowing about 10 feet below the bridge when the bridge, constructed 41 years ago, collapsed in three sections. The first section fell when a truck was passing over it. 10 minutes later, the other two sections caved in too. The driver was fortunately able to break open the windshield, climb onto the engine, and shout for help. Night heard his cries and alerted the beat police. The police with the help of coast guard personnel, managed to extract the truck driver successfully. Luckily there was no other vehicle on the during the incident. Currently 2-way traffic is being regulated on the new bridge built alongside the one. Travellers on this road are requested to drive with extra caution along this section. . . . . . .
