ProjectDystopia's video: Nneka s FIRST starring MOVIE ROLE: Relentless a Nigerian Film

@Nneka's FIRST (starring)* MOVIE ROLE: Relentless~~~~a Nigerian Film
GIDEON OKEKE, NNEKA, & JIMMY JEAN-LOUIS~~ Star in RELENTLESS. Directed by ANDY AMADI OKOROAFOR France-based Nigerian director, Andy Amadi Okoroafor , has released one of the most beautiful films to be produced by a Nigerian director in quite a while. It is visually stunning, but sparingly narrated. Much in the movie is left intentionally unexplained. It features long quiet takes, which are interspersed with rapid, short cuts that simulate the frenetic pace of life in the city of Lagos.Gideon Okeke gives an understated masterful performance in this movie, while Nneka gives a good account of herself in her first feature film. It is indeed nice to have a Nigerian director and Nigerian actors on a movie such as this, which shows even more of the possibilities of Nigerian film. SYNOPSIS: A haunting story of loneliness, love and self-discovery that explores Africa's megacity LAGOS, the effects of war, corruption and loss. OBI (Gideon Okeke) an orphaned kid raised by the military becomes a peace-keeping soldier in war-torn Sierra Leone. He meets BLESSING (Zara) a Sierra Leonean woman and love ensues for the very first time in OBI's life. His world and life grind to a devastati...ng halt as he finds her mutilated by child soldiers from a rebel group. His only option? To wipe her out of her misery! On his return to Lagos from the war,he soon becomes emotionally autistic, sleepless and lonely. By day he runs a small security company with a friend and war veteran Ola, and by night he takes a nocturnal vocation by walking the lonely streets of Lagos, haunted by his near recent past. On one of such nights HONEY (NNEKA), a runaway university undergrad and high-class call girl falls from atop a bridge, into his arms.Thrown down to die by one of her clients. He is quickly thrust back into reality as he sees himself bearing another woman in his arms, another victim of crude violence, another life to save...or let die! Fast forward into election time in Nigeria and a powerful politician claiming to have been friends with his late father, hands him a lucrative contract to provide security for his ''Candidate'' (Jimmy Jean-Louis) Obi and Honey soon find themselves in personal exile as they struggle to get a hold of their lives while trying to come to terms with the mutual reality of their present day. As he ploughs through redemption and self-rediscovery, we unveil an intimate portrait of a man battling with the scars of war. The film is unafraid to subtly question peace-keeping efforts in Africa, the tragic history of BIAFRA,the salient plague of human sacrifice, mass government inefficiency and corruption. Shot in Lagos, the film is set in Lagos and Sierra Leone. With music by NNEKA, TONY ALLEN, KUKU,BANTU,PATRICE...this genre film promises to be a pleaser!
