PsyWarOps's video: Captain Robert Stephens Gun Camera WW2

@Captain Robert Stephens Gun Camera WW2
Robert was a squadron commander in the 354th Fighter Group based in England. The 354th was the first fighter group to receive the famous P-51 Mustang. Robert personally shot down a total of 13 German enemy aircraft. The complete destruction of five enemy aircraft makes an Ace so Robert was an Ace twice over. He would eventually be awarded the Silver Star Medal, Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal. The 354th Fighter Group shot down 600 enemy aircraft and would be awarded two Distinguished Unit Citations plus the French Cross De Guerre with palm. Colonel Stephens' own squadron broke a record on 25 August 1944, when it shot down 24 German aircraft in two combat sorties over Rheims, France. Colonel Stephens destroyed two of them. Robert flew in 80 combat operations over Germany in World War II. He totaled an amazing 241 combat hours. Robert would make the Air Force his career and became a Colonel flying Jet Fighters. Robert was killed along with his copilot when their F-100 Fighter plane had engine problems, crashing just after takeoff. Robert left behind a wife, and three children.
