PsyWarOps's video: Threshing Machine and Steam Engine

Filmed at the Winegarten Picnic and Farm Implement Show in Winegarten, Missouri, 31 July 2016. This thresher is powered by a wood fired steam engine. The threshing machine (or thresher), it is a farm implement for the separation of grain from stalks and husks. The bundles of wheat stems called sheaves are loaded on a conveyor belt. The thresher separates the grain and it is bagged. The waste is called straw and it will later be bundled into straw bales. The straw bales are used animal bedding and erosion control. Threshing is just one process in getting cereals to the grinding mill and customer. Eventually the Combine was invented. The Combine is a machine that combines the wheat reaper-binder and thresher into one machine.
