Pushkin House's video: The USSR through the eyes of British travellers

@The USSR through the eyes of British travellers
In the fifth of our series of lectures in collaboration with the Anglo-Russian Research Network, Nick Hall speaks on how British travellers to the USSR of various political shades, who went "off-tour" to see what they thought of as the "real" USSR, came up against the contradictions in the Soviet Union. Nick is a PhD student at the University of Exeter, and a convenor of the Anglo-Russian Research Network, and academic group which brings together research students, scholars and members of the general public interested in the influence of Russian and Soviet culture and politics in Britain in the period 1880–1950.
