Time to fill out yet another leaf of my farewell diary, this time, with the story of Mr. Abhijit Datta (LPM) Sealdah As he embarks on a new chapter of his life, I would want to take a moment to express my heartfelt congratulations and bid you a fond farewell. Looking back at his service term of 30 years, his career graph has been evenly paced and progressively uphill. In May 1992 he joined as a trainee assistant driver in Asansol unit. Within six months he received his posting there and mostly served as assistant loco pilot in Express trains. It was from this time, he began nurturing a passion for Express trains. In1995 he joined DumDum unit as assistant of goods trains. Finally in 1998, he landed himself in the Sealdah North division. He continued climbing steps from being an assistant in Express trains to Goods train driver to driver of passenger trains. His passion and perseverance eventually began to bear fruits when, in 2007, he started driving Express trains. With his promotion consolidated in 2012, he continued working hard. From 2017 till his retirement, he has regularly driven high speed trains such as the Rajdhani Express, Duranto and Garib Rath. He drove the last run of his service in 12 th of Oct, 2023. His ascent through the ranks has been a testament to the power of determination and hardwork. Dear Sir, Collegues, friends and fellow Rail Enthusiasts will deeply miss you enriching presence. But all will be excited to see you steer through the new route that lies ahead of your life. May the tracks be smooth, signals clear and the experience fulfilling.
