El 4 de noviembre de 1920, el piloto italiano Elia Liut, realizó el primer vuelo transandino entre las ciudades de Guayaquil y Cuenca, a bordo de un avión Macchi Hanriot HD-1. Hoy, al celebrarse 100 años de aquel histórico suceso, un grupo de pilotos deportivos ecuatorianos organizaron un raid aéreo, en el cual acompañarían al piloto cuencano Juan Rodríguez, quien construyó un biplano para recrear el vuelo de Liut. Quilico Drones rinde homenaje a los amigos del aire presentando una compilación de parte del raid en la ciudad de Cuenca y el aeródromo de Wayrapamba.
