Ribnica je ena redkih Občin, ki se lahko pohvali s simfoničnim orkestrom, ki deluje pod vodstvom Glasbene šole Ribnica. Skupaj šteje 60 članov. Poleg učencev GŠ. sodelujejo tudi bivši učenci in učitelji. Vodja in dirigent orkestra je Aleksander Oražem. Na prireditvi ob Občinskem prazniku Občine Ribnica, so zaigrali "Shallow" iz muzikala Zvezda je rojena (A Star is Born)
