HANK WILDING'S JOURNAL: I observed these green anoles in April 2016, displaying their throat fans — or dewlaps — in the afterglow of their lovemaking on a beaver-gnawed tree trunk projecting out over LIttle Cotton Indian Creek, swollen at the time from heavy rain. Seemed like a curious and precarious spot to dance the juicy watusi, but anoles are surefooted critters and probably weren't' in any danger of falling.
