Marvin Lee Aday, better known as Meat Loaf, was Born in Dallas, Texas on September 27, 1947. Raised by his mother, Wilma Artie, a school teacher and member of a Christian gospel quartet, and his father, Orvis Wesley Aday, a former police officer that was also discharged from the army during the second world war. Meat Loaf graduated In 1965 from Thomas Jefferson High School, where he had started his theatrical career after performing in productions of Where’s Charley, and The Music Man. During the late 60s, Meat Loaf would move to Los Angeles and form his first band called Meat Loaf Soul, with Meat Loaf being a nickname given to him by his former high-school football coach, due to his weight.
