RECOILtv's video: Weatherby Mark V Backcountry Ti Bolt Gun

In this installment of RECOILtv's Gun Room, we join Editor in Chief, Iain Harrison, as he travels to the wildlands of New Mexico in order to test out Weatherby's Mark V Backcountry Ti. This bolt action rifle is as stunning to look at as the New Mexico scenery Iain takes it to. Accompanied by a pretty hefty price tag, this Weatherby rifle brings a bunch of features to the table for justification. From stem to stern, the Backcountry Ti is a fine piece of engineering, coming in at an extremely lightweight platform. The Backcountry Ti sports a 3DHEX Recoil Reducer butt pad, which helps mitigate felt recoil from the 6.5 WBY RPM cartridge, and adds a bit of a honeycomb texture to the platform for aesthetics. The carbon fiber stock pairs nicely with the titanium receiver, and being a Mark V action, the Backcountry Ti sports a 6 lug action, centering on a short 54-degree bolt throw. Throw on a scope and either a muzzle brake or suppressor on the threaded pencil barrel, and you've got yourself an incredible rig, that doesn't feel like you're carrying a ton of bricks up a steep mountainside. In conjunction with some of these incredible features, the Backcountry Ti also has the essentials like sling mountable points, and a ridiculous trigger that Iain gets giddy over. Relevant. Honest.
