There were some big changes in store at the 29th Annual IX Indoor Amusement Park as North American Midway Entertainment is no longer involved with the midway. So popular rides like the Freak Out, YoYo, Tilt-A-Whirl and Himalaya are all absent this year. In their place, Triple Treat Shows expanded its presence and Poor Jack Amusements brought some rides as well. "New" rides this year included state-of-the-art thrillers such as the Loop-O-Plane, Black Widow, and Sizzler. An Interpark Rides Cyclon 40 replaced the long-running Crazy Mouse (possibly due to the Amusements of America incident in Ohio last year). Be warned that there is a "No Single Riders" rule on this one for some strange reason. Also new was the Majestic Rides BackSpin roller coaster, which is a one-trailer controlled spinning coaster. This was quite possible the lowest-attended Opening Day I have ever seen at the IXIAP, so expect to see a lot of empty rides. Heck, there is a Chance Zumur swing ride this year that nobody rode during my time there (3 pm-5 pm). I also didn't get the Hrubetz Tip Top this year as it was running sporadically. With the new "Under 18 Requires a Parent of Guardian" rule in effect this season, I wonder if that is what caused a dip in attendance...
