Ray P’s Videos's video: The Rides of Ride Op PC Game

Part Two of my Amusement Park Shutdown Series is a look at the rides in the PC Game called "Ride Op". Like my previous video featuring "Theme Park Simulator", this game allows the user to control a bizarre mix of amusement rides (Star Flyer, Chance Inverter, Intamin 2nd Gen Drop Tower, Ferris Wheel, Disk'O Coaster, S&S Sky Swat. Mondial Giant Frisbee, Zamperla Air Race and the Stratosphere Tower's Insanity). Unlike Theme Park Simulator, Ride Op features "challenges", such as preventing riders from "puking", keeping the line moving, and preventing break downs. While I am not too fond of the challenges, the operations of some of the rides is enjoyable. The graphics are very smooth and the options are decent (color customization, lights on or off, etc). On the negative side, the riders are pretty scary looking, the camera angles are limited to on ride and off ride (but you can manually look using first-person shooter controls), and the variety of rides is minimal and quite odd. There are no Sky Swats anymore, Inverters are a dying breed, and Insanity was definitely a strange choice. Overall, I'd say Ride Op is an average simulation game. If you are looking for some rides to operate, the game's price tag of $17.99 isn't too bad. I believe there is also a VR upgrade (something I do not have as it makes me nauseous!).
