RQ87's video: Fighter s History Dynamite playthrough SEGA Saturn 1CC

@Fighter's History Dynamite playthrough (SEGA Saturn) (1CC)
Playthrough with Mizoguchi. This game... I never thought I would be able to beat it, and gave up on it along time ago. But after 1CC'ing Super Turbo last year, I knew I had a chance with this now. To me, this game is the Super Turbo of Neo Geo fighters. There are two main problems I have with it: 1) The difficulty is RIDICULOUS. The CPU treats you like you killed its mother or something. Constantly in your face, input reading galore, it's just typical 90's fighting game AI taken to the extreme. 2) The game speed is a bit too fast for me. I would have preferred it if there was a normal and turbo option select, but there isn't. After coming back to this game again I finally managed to figure out how to beat it: spam Mizoguchi's hurricane kicks. His hurricane kick requires you to input the motion multiple times to do the full move, so if the opponent blocks, just stop inputting any more motions. The move is usually safe on block as long as you don't do it at point blank range and don't do the full thing if the opponent blocks the first or second hit. Mizoguchi's other moves aren't very good. His fireball sucks because it takes him so long to throw one out, if you compare it to some of the other character's projectiles (like Ray's) it's garbage. His dragon punch type move also sucks because the input appears to be glitched -it's supposed to be back, down back, down & punch, but when I do that I often get a fireball instead. I tried it on the Neo Geo version and the same thing happens so it's not just an issue with the Saturn version. The ideal setup, which I get a few times in this video, is to use the hurricane kick to knock the opponent's weak spot off, then when they're dizzy, push them into the corner. When they're at the corner, use Mizoguchi's super fireball, and then do a strong kick, then do another hurricane kick. This combo is guaranteed to kill your opponent if you do it right. However the hurricane kick won't effect the weak spots of certain opponents, like Jean or Lee, so they can be a real pain to fight. Another problem with this combo is, sometimes it's hard to do anything after the super fireball connects. Like at 18:22, I was MASHING that kick button like my life was depending on it, but Mizoguchi just stood there, which led to Clown getting to throw me. If you complete the game without losing a single round, you get to fight Ox in a secret one round boss battle. I kind of wanted to lose to Ox, purely because his win pose is hilarious... maybe next time. As for the port itself, it's excellent -it was only released in Japan, and for some reason requires a 1 meg RAM cartridge to play at all, but after the initial load screen there are no load times between fights, and all the animation frames are there. It also has the arcade and Neo Geo CD soundtracks to choose from, and even better, has an option to turn all the text into English. Doing this also changes the name of the game to ""Karnov's Revenge"". Personally I prefer the Japanese title, it's one of my all time favorite video game names. For some reason the music cut out at 7:39, I have no idea why and have never had this happen before.
