Bisher hatte es niemand gewagt, Helikopterrettungen bis in Höhen von über 7000 Metern durchzuführen, weil sie schlicht als zu gefährlich galten. Dies sollte sich ändern, als die Air Zermatt gemeinsam mit den Piloten von Fishtail Air aus Nepal vor zwei Jahren mit dem Aufbau einer Rettungsstation im Himalaya begann. Zwei Jahre lang hat ein Team von «DOK» die «Die Bergretter im Himalaya» begleitet.
