Imperial Hotel, Japan 27 September 2011 Terumo Corporation officials led by its Chairman and CEO Koji Nakao called on President Benigno S. Aquino III to present their letter of commitment to expand their business operation in Biñan, Laguna. According to Communications Secretary Sonny Coloma, Terumo will acquire new land to expand their current space at the Laguna Technopark. The group is into manufacturing and sales of medical products and equipment like syringes, catheter systems, blood bags and other disposable medical devices. They are also optimistic in investing because they like the highly skilled Filipino workers. The said plant expansion could double or triple the current workforce in Laguna. Since the syringe is one of the most important products of Terumo, President Aquino noted this significant development because there is a Public-Private Partnership project on the establishment of a vaccine factory by the Department of Health. Terumo Philippines Corporation President Maki Takizawa and Corporate Communications Department Supervisor Kana Takamoto also joined Mr. Nakao during the call.
