Ziua Universala a Iei a fost sarbatorita la NY la The Gantry Plaza, LIC, pe malul raului East River, de catre peste 100 de membri ai comunitatii romano-americane, cu prezenta Institului Cultural Roman de la NY, a Misiunii Permanente a Republicii Moldova la ONU si a ambasadorului Gh Leuca si a Consulatului General al Romaniei la NY. Fondatorul si organizatorul evenimentului a fost Ciprian Anton, intitiator al grupului IA DAY NYC. Ziua Universala a Iei este sarbatorita anual pe 24 iunie. Ia romaneasca a fost introdusa de UNESCO in 2022 pe Lista Patrimoniului Imaterial al Umanitatii. “Arta camasii cu altita” a devenit astfel in mod oficial element de identitate culturala in Romania si Republica Moldova.
