This week we are bringing you three sets of jazz instead of two - the more jazz the better! SET ONE: Davidson Ellis Duo Featuring Emma Davidson on vocals & Dylan Ellis on guitar, the Davidson Ellis duo will be exploring a collection of songs from various genres which have inspired them on their musical journey. SET TWO: Maddie Penfold Quintet Featuring Maddie Penfold on saxophone, Antigone Blackwell on trombone, Charlie Herbert on piano, Marcus Baber on bass and Tom Williams on drums. The Maddie Penfold Quintet will be playing a few standards ranging from Doxy by Sonny Rollins to Adam’s Apple by Wayne Shorter. This will be Maddie’s first Jazz Time performance since arriving at college in September and she’s really looking forward to playing with this group. SET THREE: George Povey’s Doublethink Featuring Huw Llewellyn on trumpet, Ross Hicks on piano, Charlie Herbert on double bass and George Povey on drums, this quartet return to Jazz Time for a set of original tunes and contemporary jazz repertoire. AmserJazzTime is the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama's regular Friday night Jazz session, live streamed from the Carne Foyer during COVID-19.
