Paul William Walker IV[3] (September 12, 1973[4] – November 30, 2013) was an American actor. He is best known for his role as Brian O'Conner in the Fast & Furious franchise. Walker began his career as a child actor during the 1970s and 1980s, and gained recognition in the early 1990s after appearing in the television soap opera The Young and the Restless. He received praise for his performances in the teen film She's All That and the coming-of-age film Varsity Blues (both 1999), before gaining international fame after starring in The Fast and the Furious (2001). Walker then starred in the commercially successful road thriller Joy Ride (2001), which led to a reputation as an action star. This continued with his performances in box-office disappointments Into the Blue (2005) and Running Scared (2006). Walker also earned praise in other genres, like in the survival drama Eight Below, and for his portrayal of Hank Hansen the war film Flags of Our Fathers (both 2006). Outside of these, Walker then largely appeared in low budget action films, but starred in the commercially successful heist film Takers (2010). Walker died on November 30, 2013 at the age of 40 as a passenger in a single-car crash alongside friend and driver Roger Rodas thought to be caused by driving into a gas pipe. Walker's father and daughter filed separate wrongful death lawsuits against Porsche, which resulted in settlements. At the time of his death, Walker had not completed filming Furious 7 (2015), which was completed after rewrites and stand-ins, including his brothers Cody and Caleb, filled in for Walker. The song "See You Again" by Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth was commissioned for the film's soundtrack as a tribute to Walker. The Toyota Supra (Japanese: トヨタ・スープラ, Toyota Sūpura) is a sports car and grand tourer manufactured by Toyota Motor Corporation beginning in 1978. The initial four generations of the Supra were produced from 1978 to 2002. The fifth generation has been produced since March 2019 and went on sale in May 2019.[3] The styling of the original Supra was derived from the Toyota Celica, but it was both longer and wider.[4] Starting in mid-1986, the A70 Supra became a separate model from the Celica. In turn, Toyota also stopped using the prefix Celica and named the car Supra.[5] Owing to the similarity and past of the Celica's name, it is frequently mistaken for the Supra, and vice versa. The first, second and third generations of the Supra were assembled at the Tahara plant in Tahara, Aichi, while the fourth generation was assembled at the Motomachi plant in Toyota City. The fifth generation of the Supra is assembled alongside the G29 BMW Z4 in Graz, Austria by Magna Steyr. The Supra also traces much of its roots back to the 2000GT owing to an inline-6 layout. The first three generations were offered with a direct descendant to the Crown's and 2000GT's M engine. Interior aspects were also similar, as was the chassis code "A". Fast & Furious (originally The Fast and the Furious) is a media franchise centered on a series of action films that are largely concerned with illegal street racing, heists and spies. The franchise also includes short films, a television series, live shows, video games and theme park attractions. It is distributed by Universal Pictures. The first film was released in 2001, which began the original trilogy of films focused on illegal street racing, and culminated in the film The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006). The series went under a change with Fast & Furious (2009), which transitioned the series toward heists and spying, and was followed by four sequels. F9 is set to be released in 2021, with a tenth and final film planned. The main films are collectively known as The Fast Saga. Universal expanded the series to include the spin-off film Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw (2019), while its subsidiary DreamWorks Animation followed this with the animated web television series Fast & Furious Spy Racers. Soundtrack albums have been released for all the films, as well as compilation albums containing existing music heard in the films. Two short films that tie into the series have also been released. The series has been commercially successful and is Universal's biggest franchise, and ranks as the tenth highest-grossing film series ever, with a combined gross of over $5.8 billion.[1] Critical reception for the first film was mixed, and mostly negative until the fifth and later films, which were more positively received. Outside of the films, Fast & Furious has been the focus of other media, including attractions at Universal Studios Hollywood, live shows, commercials, many video games and toys. It is considered the vehicle that propelled lead actors Paul Walker and Vin Diesel to stardom.
