Rachel Nielsen's video: My Car Accident Story

@My Car Accident Story.
READ DESCRIPTION FIRST PLSS i've since uploaded more video's related to the accident, my injury, and ongoing recovery journey. watch here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLTdsajt_0fl_JzURyMAXASmokyaK9HCzU hey everyone. it's future me. i filmed and uploaded this video so early on into my recovery, my brain was a mess, and i don't really show that in this video. that's because my instant coping mechanism was to poke fun at it and 'stay positive' in like a fake ironic way, which you can tell by the multiple stupid jokes i make in this video (yeeted out of a car???). honestly wish i had waited longer before i filmed this but i also am glad it shows how i was at the beginning. I DOWNPLAYED the whole story without realizing or knowing. It was much more serious and scary than I make it out to seem in this video. It's even insulting to my present self now (8 months later) how light hearted and chill I seem about the worst thing that has ever happened in my life so far. nevertheless, I hope I still get my point across through this badly-expressed video. when we're young we're more reckless, we think the world lies at our fingertips, and sometimes we can take it a bit too far if we lose sight of whats important. unnecessary speeding on the highway is not cool or something to show off about. not wearing a seatbelt does not make you more edgy. sadly, these are things that are just ingrained in our minds from the way we've grown up. for example: my only reason for not wearing a seatbelt was because i was in jakarta. in jakarta, 90% of the time you're on the road - you're stuck in traffic. people in the backseat just don't wear their seatbelts. it bites you in the ass later on, as i have learned now. i always wear my seatbelt now. i don't take life for granted. but im also not a scaredy prude who just stays home and doesn't remember to 'live'. i still love adventures and taking risks. i refuse to let this accident jeopardise that spirit. but i am now learning that there is a line that has to be drawn. obviously, some things are not in our control and this accident is a result of that. its no ones fault. but i do want to share this story just as a warning and to raise awareness of that line and knowing when to draw it. at the end of the day, making mistakes and learning from it is what helps us grow. im going to keep making mistakes and im going to keep growing. but don't wait for shit like this to happen to you before you 'change your ways'. sorry kinda went off there and idk if that all makes sense haha but the date is aug 17, 2019 and i am the happiest i have ever been. I owe all my recovery and strength to my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. He protected me that night, even if ya'll think he didn't. I could have actually died and He spared me from that so that I could have this testimony to share with you. This is what I believe. hope this cleared some things up. comment or dm any questions you may still have about me or the accident and i'll try to answer them in a q&a because there's still more to to the story that i want to share! also i don't mention the drivers name out of respect for his privacy. no im not doing this for attention this is my channel and i get to share whatever i wanna about my life :~) also i wanna remind ya'll to WEAR YA DAMN SEATBELTS!! i lov u hehe bye for now socials: http://instagram.com/rachelnielsen snapchat: idkwhats
