The game was developed by Lobotomy Software and released in two completely different versions for PC and consoles (PlayStation and Sega Saturn). Where the PC version was your standard, run-off-the-mill "doom-clone" shooter, where you traversed linear levels with the odd door-key puzzle, the console versions offered fully polygonal 3D environments with open-ended Metroidvania-style traversal a good deal before Symphony of the Night came out. With PowerSlave Exhumed, Nightdive has beautifully remastered this overlooked and underrated classic shooter gem with a skillful merging of the best-of-both-worlds of both console versions. It's a damn near perfect remaster and a great and rare example of how video game preservations should be done.
