Karnataka Express is one of the most popular and immensely successful trains of Indian Railways, It is a daily service running from New Delhi to KSR Bengaluru (Banglore) via Mathura Agra Gwalior Jhansi Bina Bhopal Itarsi Khandwa Bhusaval Manmad Ahmednagar Daund Solapur Gulbarga(Kalburagi) Wadi Raichur Guntakal Dharmavaram Penukonda Yelankha. For some stops, it is the only connection to Banglore and New Delhi. I was fortunate to be onboard for one last time in the beast which runs at 74kmph for 1500 km, the run only Rajdhani Express trains provide in the route. The train was lead by the usual Tughlakabad WAP7i from New Delhi, road numbered 30397. The rapid run through the second fastest passenger train zone in India and the fastest freight zone in India, i.e. West Central Railway's High-Speed Bhopal division. There are high-speed crossings and overtakes, especially the one at Ganj Basoda of India's first Adarsh train, the 12155/6 Shan E Bhopal Express. Crossings with Kongu Express, Chattisgarh Express, Mahamana Express and many more. Skips major stations like Mandi Bamora, Ganj Basoda, Vidisha and Sanchi famous for buddha Sanchi Stupa. Watch as WAP7 with its shrill honking enjoys brutal action and full green clearance from West Central Railways. The entire stretch was covered at 75kmph as we were late at Bina by 50 minutes.
