RailfanS1's video: Kato SD40-2 DCC conversion test

@Kato SD40-2 DCC conversion test.
Just a short video showing you a project that I'm working on. This is an older Kato SD40-2 that has had a rough life. It blew a trace on the original factory light board a while back, and hasn't really run right since. Since I'm converting everything to DCC, I decided to try to use a board replacement decoder in this model (NCE DASR). One thing I really like about this decoder is that resistors for the LED's are built right into the board, so I don't have to include them in the wiring. I also decided to get rid of the brass pickup wipers that commonly cause problems on older Kato's and hard wired the decoder right to the truck side frames. I'll have to modify the frame and/or the cab interior in order to get the front wires to fit with the shell on. Also I need to get the correct LED's. Once I'm done I'll be able to run this SD40 with the BNSF one seen in the background in the video. The BNSF model is a late run Kato SD40-2, equipped with an MRC sound decoder and ditch lights.
