@Manx Electric Railway 2017 Review
Available on DVD from: http://www.videoscene.co.uk/manx-electric-railway-2017-review.html With numerous repaints including cars 21, 32 and 62 into the 1950s green livery, the return to service of trailers 61 and 62 after nine years, periods of intensive service using the entire fleet and one of the best enthusiast events in recent years, 2017 was a good year for the Manx Electric Railway. This DVD contains highlights of six visits to the island during the year: From February: A visit to the workshops with footage of various trams being restored and painted and a look at Ramsey following the demolition of the car shed and goods shed. From April: Footage from the Rush Hour event with car 32 making its debut in green and 16 back in red; the temporary Ramsey South station with car 21 in green and white and track renewal with single line working between Groudle and Onchan. From May: A short visit with a look at the fully completed Ramsey South station and various moves; more single line working and a typical spring day with cars 2+44 as set D4. From June: Footage from the weather-affected TT race period with an intensive service to Ramsey, some interesting combos like 21+58, 19+61, 16+60 (now in red and white livery), trailers 61 and 62 back in service and the old station at Ramsey is used to stable trams. From July: Coverage of the final three days of the Transport Festival including the Friday with cars 16+60, 20+57, 32+62 and 33+61+van4 all running to Ramsey in the evening, plus the intensive service and 12 sets (24 trams) in service on the Sunday. From November: Brief footage from the final week of service with cars 19 and 20 and some gorgeous autumn colours. Quality guarantee: The programme is professionally produced with a stereo soundtrack, informative commentary and digital editing.
