At the same time we fail to acknowledge the transient nature which forms the very core of our existence. The poet says that human life is very fragile and it can meet its end at any time. Our five sense organs that strengthen us are a source of great misery. They can deviate us from our path. They connect us with the world and the millions of materialistic pursuits that it has to offer. Even the great celibate saints who held pride in matters of self control were also made to surrender before the desires. They were not able to protect themselves from drowning in the river of pleasures and greed. In order to conquer these, we must keep our faith strong. Only true devotion can help us sail safely to the shore. God is there to show us the righteous path and we must act accordingly. Organized by Lokayan, Bikaner and partnered with Rajasthan Police, this is a folk festival providing a space where folk musicians, artists, scholars, students, and seekers can immerse themselves in the voices of Bhakti and Sufi saint-poets such as Kabir, Mira, Bulleh Shah, and many more, questioning and dissolving boundaries of caste, class, religion, and identity. The five editions, in 2012, 2016, 2017, 2018 & 2019 were widely chronicled and appreciated.
