In the turn of a day, Ranma & Akane declare their love for each other, leaving everyone else shocked and/or devastated. Ryoga in particular, thinks that it just can't get worse. But as he spends his days recovering from his heartache at Ucchan's, he accidentally gets engaged to Shampoo, has an odd accident resulting in Kodachi pursuing his heart, a forgotten rival arriving to get his revenge... all that and Ukyou's been acting somewhat violent with that spatula lately as well. It all seems familiar to Ryoga, in an odd sort of way.
