On our global techno festival journey, ECHELON near Munich was our out of 50. Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/raverglueck/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Raverglueck/ *** SOUNDTRACK BY Adam Beyer https://soundcloud.com/mixmag-1/adam-beyer-bart-skils-your-mind-drumcode *** GETTING THERE -you can take the train to Rosenheim and then take the Echelon shuttle bus -the company "Flash Festivalbuses" offers direct shuttles from diverse German cities TICKETS -full weekend means (at least in 2018) that you can go to the pre-party on Friday but the festival stops at Sunday 3am (all major stages at 1am) PEOPLE / SPIRIT -pretty young audience (access from age 16) -very local events, only a few internationals LINE-UP -superb line-up with strong headliners, almost 100% well-knoen DJs SOUND -Center Stage was not well-balanced, even when you were dancing in the front rows -pretty loud echo on the Circus Floor due to hall design -Weird Stage not loud enough STAGES -Weird Stage: DJ desk was a bit too high, i.e. we couldn´t see Deborah de Luca´s smile in the first 5 rows -Kater Mukke: weird stage design, too narrow to see the DJ when he was not standing exactly in the center; even more problematic when DJ duos were playing TOILETS / SHOWERS -pretty long waiting lines at peak times -good quality of toilets / showers FOOD/DRINKS -1 beer 0.3l = 4€ -Food: Asian, Fries, Burger, Spätzle, Kebab, Burrito (...) LOCATION -nice view at the former US bugging system -festival venue itself is not spectacular (all facilities were just built up on grass) -the design was not really intuitive, you had to walk quite a lot between the stages although the venue wasn´t too big SECURITY/ STAFF / MEDICAL CARE -moderate controls for camping / festival area -overall friendly security / bar staff OVERALL PRICE/PERFORMANCE RATIO -if you are in the area, it´s a nice one-day event to see all the major acts (based on 2018 line-up)
