Ravinia Festival's video: Ravinia TV: Episode 13 Dennis DeYoung Renaldo Domino the Heavy Sounds Mames Babegenush

@Ravinia TV: Episode 13 | Dennis DeYoung, Renaldo Domino & the Heavy Sounds, Mames Babegenush
The misty, water-colored memories we’ve made this summer with RaviniaTV are so many, this thirteenth, season-finale episode couldn’t be anything less than an hourlong spectacular! Though this weekly series is wrapping up, we’re happily looking to what’s ahead with our new President & CEO, Jeff Haydon, who takes us through the personal and professional experiences that have him excited to start a chapter both new and familiar with the Ravinia Family. Our concert season would normally have ended about two weeks ago, so with scattered pictures of the smiles we gave to one another—and a performance from 4 Chairs Theatre—we remember the laughter of the way we were. The “social distancing” of the past six months is both the situation and the subject in original choreography we commissioned from Concert Dance Inc., who perform the world premiere at the Kohl Kaplan Fountain, which has been dancing all summer at our grand entrance. It’s the best of times with even more exclusive performances this week, starting with Styx co-founder Dennis DeYoung joining us from home, welcoming everyone to “come on in and see what’s happening”! Matt McGill of WVON 1690 AM also gets us ready to groove with a countdown of his top five R&B and hip-hop albums of all time, and we catch up with The Comic Thread at our front gate, where the scene with our superfans has started to take a turn now a month in (watch for the conclusion next week!). Before executives from our supporters Abbott, Allstate, and BMO share the importance of their philanthropic work and how their partnership with Ravinia lives up to their missions, one of our favorite bands of recent seasons, Mames Babegenush, swoops in with their signature “klezmer attack” from their home in Copenhagen, and Chicago Symphony Orchestra principal clarinetist Stephen Williamson and concertmaster Robert Chen—along with his family, forming the Chen Quartet—give us a movement of Mozart. Creating RaviniaTV was our soul food this summer, so there’s no better way to play in the season than with longtime Chicago soul man Renaldo Domino and The Heavy Sounds! Summer is ON RaviniaTV — thank you for tuning in every Friday, and we look forward to sharing music with you again soon. Thank you to our sponsor Exelon and the Ravinia 2020 Society donors for their support. — 00:00 – RaviniaTV Episode 13 • Season Finale! 00:10 – Ravinterviews • Jeffrey P.
