RayofHope3579's video: Harvest Moon: Animal Parade - Captain Bluecoat s Treasure Hunt

@Harvest Moon: Animal Parade - Captain Bluecoat's Treasure Hunt
Okay, so, at the General Store in Garmon Mines, you might start finding 9 different maps available for purchase, for prices like 111G, 222G, etc. Each one has a message on it that hints at a certain secret location in town. If you keep a map in your rucksack, go to the exact spot it suggests, and press A, you'll find a hidden item - a gem - an increasingly more valuable gem with each more expensive map. Now, the maps in this video are NOT THOSE MAPS!!! (However, I HAVE found all of the locations for those maps, so if you need help with one of them, you can ask in the comments. ^^) Anyway, to start THIS treasure hunt, you have to have Yolanda at 5 hearts and talk to her in the Ocarina Inn. After you bake the mysterious map she gives you in order to make the clue appear (wouldn't that burn the paper? xD), at each location you'll find a bit of treasure. (It's so cute how Finn gets all excited for the hunt! I got excited, too!) Scene Selection: 0:01 - first map 1:05 - bonfire 1:47 - treasure 2:39 - treasure 3:32 - treasure 4:22 - treasure 5:18 - treasure The message written on each map, which you can read by looking at the item in your Rucksack menu, is actually different from the rhyme you read when you first find it. You can use both clues together to help you find each location. These are the on-map clues and locations for each one: 1) Map of Hope "A gleaming eye guarding the sea. 5 steps away from the white chair." Near the Lighthouse - pretty self-explanatory. 2) Map of Night "3 squares, 3 circles. Next to it is a place that glows in the night." The original map clue makes it more obvious with the mention of a kettle, which is the picture on the sign at the General Store in Garmon Mines. Next to it are 3 square crates and 3 round barrels, and there's a window on the side of the building that lets out a square of light (only at night). 3) Map of Breath "Underneath the pumpkin that blooms all year long." Marimba Farm in Flute Fields has a pumpkin as its icon. The treasure is not underneath the large pumpkin picture on the roof, but rather the small hanging pumpkin-shaped sign on the left-front of the building. 4) Map of Light "A bell at 12, stairs at 6. underneath the one leg that holds the torch at 9." Think of the Church Grounds as a clock face and stand in the middle of it. The bell (on the church building) is straight ahead at "12 o'clock"; the stairs are straight behind you at "6 o'clock"; and the streetlight that holds the treasure is straight left at "9 o'clock". You also have to wait until nighttime when the light comes on before you can get the item from it. (...But, you know, the church bell literally rings every day during the 12 o'clock hour!! I've noticed it since really early on in the game, and I was hoping it would eventually mean something... I was all excited when I saw this clue and thought perhaps it was about that, but it turns out that the clue is referring to the 12 direction and not the 12 hour... Still, I was proud to figure it out all by myself, heh-heh.) 5) Map of Daybreak "Where the Guardian points, flowers, where shadows falls at 8 o'clock." ...Gah! x_X Makes no sense... I wasted quite a bit of G on Boat Tickets trying to look near the statues in front of Pineapple Inn that are actually POINTING near FLOWERS... until I gave in and looked it up. In fact, even Ushi no Tane cites the clue (perhaps the original Japanese clue) as saying "spread your wings, gaze out..." which should even MORE obviously hint at those winged statues, but no... for some reason, the treasure is instead along the shoreline that is reached by walking directly left from the pier. At 8 o'clock in the morning, of course. But, it's a cute ending to the series of scenes. (I knew it had to be Pascal! Who else wears a blue coat in this game?) While the Glass isn't so impressive, all that other stuff along the way makes it pretty worth it. And besides, dress-up accessories are always fun to collect. (I wish I could share them with Chloe! She'd have a lot of fun playing pretend pirate. It'd make her "wish" come true!) And, most of all, I love the message, something that Harvest Moon life can certainly teach you: never pass up an adventure. =D Harvest Moon is a registered trademark of Natsume Inc. ©1997-2009 Natsume Inc.
