Rotary Club of Illinois Valley presented the Siskiyou Folk & Bluegrass Festival on June 24, 2023 at the Trout Pavilion by beautiful Lake Selmac in Selma, OR. Some of the region’s finest Bluegrass, Folk & Americana talents performed -- Songbird Trio, Sequoia, Jodie Jean Marston, Hot Copper Kettle, Dangerous Lee & The Rattlin’ Three, and The Sunny Sky Boys. Pacific Power was a 2023 Platinum Sponsor of the event. Camping was available through Josephine County Parks (Lake Selmac Campground) or at the Lake Selmac Resort. Rotary Club of the Illinois Valley uses the event as its major fundraising effort to cover costs of their many programs for youth, scholarships, student recognition and literacy. Both a flatpicker and Travis-style fingerpicker, Ashford was 2008 Northern California Bluegrass Society Guitarist of the Year and also given a Lifetime Achievement Award by that organization in 2016.
