Her first novel, Infractus, is coming soon from Driven Press. Filmed On 5D Markii with Magic Lantern 14bit raw video at 1872x936 , 23.976fps 800 ISO. Canon EF24-70mm f2.8L , Master the audio to Zoom N4h with phantom power 250 Ohms XLR Apex 150 Mic. @ 96/24bit . The Closeup shots came from my Canon HV20 capturing @ 1080p 60i Uncompressed HDMI Signal (1.5Gb/s) to Atomos Ninja HDMI hard drive recorder to ProRes HQ. Extracted Progressive 24p frame with apple compressor with "Reverse Telecine" option enabled to ProRes 4444XQ. I Processed the Magic Lantern 14bit raw with MLVFS ( Cdng Convertor on the Fly Mac App.) Which Product 150 GB of Virtual Cdngs in a Virtual Directory . ( So no need to have physical Files or double up on Hard Drive space ) From there i imported in to the New Beta Blackmagic Resolve 12.5 (Mac) Set the camera raw to decode in Arri Raw with BDM film Space which give me a Arri C-Log like image with a little more fine tuning in camera raw ( some sharpness added and crank down the Contrast by at least 30-40% ) Caveat : with this you Must Expose Correctly no "I can fix that in post" cause i my made a mistake . Then i imported the Master ProRes 4444XQ in to FCPX De-log with the installed preset Arri C-Log and graded . Because i used a high ISO (800) i got a little too much noise so in FCPX a clean up the noise with "Neat Video" . So Why I'm i not using Adobe After Effects CC to make ProRes Master files ? Will 2 reason , first A.E. is so Slow and because i do mostly news story & mini doc. i need a very quick turn around time and Resolve give me that at real time not at 3-4 frames a second in A.E. , secondly Resolve is free and and adobe cost money . With the reworking of the color management improvements , the debaying of camera etc... resolve has step up there game and now i feel more confident the file produce is as good as A.E. file. Now for problem files i still relay on A.E. .
