Hi all :) and a Hello to all my new subscribers ! Thanks for following me , Over the last fellow months I've been working at getting 4k/UHD and raw compression to the great Digic IV 5D Mark ii . I'm getting closer , I'm hoping to have a working concept by the end of the summer of 2018 . I had a golden opportunely about a month ago to battle test my "Bleeding Edge" Highly Experimental 12bit Full Frame Raw Video on my 5D Mark ii , Interviewed Calgary Author Steena Holmes at Chapter/Indeo in Red Deer AB. , shot the interview in one take , had my Canon HV20 as "B' Cam recording to HDMI Atomis Ninja hard drive recorder . I forgot to warm up my CF card before the interview (magic lantern can write test data at boot up from 32MB to 2GB) this help in maintaining high data write speed without dropping frames . So i had a short clip of about 1:00 min. then drop a frame which stop recording , when i notice it was about 1:00 min (Lucky i had the "bcam" recording) then continued to record for another 10:00 minute without any problems . Used my EF 24-70L 2.8f at f7 , 800 ISO 1856x1044 @23.976 + Audio 44.1 kHz . Write speed was 66MB/s on Lexar 64GB 1066x . Workflow was very simple , dump the cdng's to true 12bit (no upsampling to 16bit) with "mlv_dump" on command line in Windows 7 Pro then ran them thought Adobe After Effects CS6 to normalize them to legal color space , save them as Tiff's , imported them in to Apple Compressor on my MacPro 5.1 to Apple ProRes4444XQ , edit & graded in FCPX . Had to do some denoising in the shadows with neat video (hi-ISO) applied the grade with Film Convert Pro , used the "RedMX" for camera source & Polaroid 600 for film emulation film stock . Uploaded file was apple prores 422hq .
