Reliance Foundation's video: Reliance Foundation - Kerala Flood Relief Operation 2018 Hindi

The 2018 floods in Kerala were the worst in a century. Incessant rains washed away homes of over 10 Lakh people and destroyed almost 1,400 Kms of roads and 300 bridges; 54,000 ha of crops were ruined, affecting over three Lakh farmers and hundreds of people lost their lives. Reliance Foundation (RF) swiftly responded to the grim situation to provide rescue and relief, initiating the ‘Kerala Flood Relief Operation’. More than 100 employees from Reliance Industries came together to provide relief to the people of Kerala. Reliance Foundation Information Services Helpline number was used extensively by the people and rescue teams to locate people in distress. At relief camps, RF distributed essential items needed by the people affected by the flood, such as shelter kits, dry ration kits, sanitary kits, clothes, utensils and bedding. Even the domestic animals were provided with veterinary care and fodder. Smt. Nita M. Ambani, Chairperson, RF, visited the relief camp in Pallipadu village, Alleppey District, to provide impetus to RF’s efforts and assure the people of timely support.
