Reliance Foundation's video: Reliance Foundation: RF BIJ - Mahadev Daheriya: Finding Success Beyond Farming

Madhya Pradesh’s farmer Mahadev Daheriya transformed his situation from one of poverty to prosperity, with support from the Reliance Foundation facilitated Village Farmers Association (VFA). Low crop yields and subsequent low farm income, had compelled Mahadev to work as a labourer and borrow loans for taking care of his family. The VFA’s support with land development, creation and strengthening of irrigation infrastructure and soil tests to optimise fertiliser usage, improved his soil fertility, yielding him bounties of harvest. Training in beekeeping and lac farming further helped in providing additional sources of income and he now works as a master trainer in both. With enhanced income, he can now send his children to a good school and ensure a better life and a bright future for his family.
