Reliance Foundation's video: Reliance Foundation: Turning barren lands into fertile farmlands in MP

The farmlands of Chikhla villagers in Seoni, Madhya Pradesh, lay barren due to lack of water for irrigation, resulting in low produce. Reliance Foundation helped the farmers carry out land development activities like clearing, bunding and deep ploughing to make the land cultivable. To improve the water level, water tanks were established, ensuring regular water supply for irrigation. RF also helped the farmers eliminate exploitative middlemen by facilitating the formation of Farmer Producers’ Company. This enabled them to get better rates for their produce, receive timely payments directly into their bank accounts, get good quality raw material, and save on transportation and storage costs. Their commute was also reduced, enabling them to devote more time to farming. Today, they are not just successful farmers, but have also become efficient traders with RF’s help.
