@Chainsaw Chain Tension Adjustment
https://repairs101.ca/chainsaw-chain-tension-adjustment/ Introduction to adjusting chainsaw chain tension using two different types of chainsaws with Pro-tips and safety hacks included free of charge. Demonstrated on a Stihl 038 Super-Pro and a TackLife 8 inch 6amp electric telescoping pole saw. Transcript provided for the hearing impaired. Alright today on Repairs101 I’m going to show you a couple of chainsaws and how to adjust their chains. This episode of Repairs101 is sponsored by Princess Auto. Okay, I’m going to start this video by making two statements. Number one: the most common workplace injury reported worldwide are eye injuries. And number two: there is no such thing as a minor chainsaw wound. Forgetting to put chain oil in your chainsaw will definitely lead to premature chain and or bar wear and or failure. Greasing the roller tip reduces the friction load on the motor. Slack in the chain can result in the chain jumping off the bar and or snapping. Chainsaws are generally adjusted by a dowel that runs up and down an adjusting screw and that pushes on a hole in the bar. Sometimes you will find the adjuster on the front - sometimes it’s on the side. This pole saw uses an eccentric cam to push out on a square knob that’s attached to the bar. You just dial in the tension you want and then you lock it down with the butterfly screw. Point the tip of the bar up as you adjust it and as you tighten down the cover. Woof!
