Retro Hound's video: Queen - Radio Ga Ga 7 Version

@Queen - Radio Ga Ga (7" Version)
The first single released from their The Works album, this is the 7" version taken from the US 7" single. Written by Roger Taylor, the single was a worldwide success for the band, reaching No. 1 in 19 countries, No. 2 on the UK Singles Chart and the Australian Kent Music Report and No. 16 on the US Billboard Hot 100. The title of the song was inspired by Roger Taylor's 3 year old son; meanwhile the video was inspired by the film Metropolis, which had been restored that same year. Of course, Radio Ga Ga will mostly be remembered for Queen's "show-stealing performance" at Live Aid with 72,000 fans clapping in unison. An awe-inspiring moment for all who watched, including Bob Geldof. In fact, it was Queen's Live Aid appearance that inspired them to write One Vision later that summer. But don't be fooled by the Bohemian Rhapsody movie - Live Aid was far more than just Queen. Back to the music... Enjoy this single edited version that is still only available on the original 7" vinyl releases!
