◆ 世界の終わりは始まりである / The end of the world is the beginning ◆ イヤホン推奨/Listen with earphones English below ............................... 以下 後藤記 ............................... この曲は2014年6月6日に作曲しました。 ハワイに住む親愛なる友人から「平和を願う曲を」という言葉をもらい、フルオーケストラという大編成にもかかわらず3日程で一気に作り上げ、すぐにハワイにCDを送付した思い出があります。そしてそのまま心の中にしまっていました。 時は過ぎ、2020年4月末。ご存知の通り、世の中は未知のウイルスにより未曾有の混乱、価値観の変動、いつまで続くか分からない状況へのストレス、そして世界規模での差別等、さまざまな問題を抱え、人類の脆さを露呈しました。 そんな中、わたしもステイホームしている一員として、自宅にこもり過去の作品を整理していました。そしてふと突然目に飛び込んできたのが、2014年に作ったこの曲です。これは何かのメッセージだと思い、その曲だけを何年ぶりかに改めて聴き返しました。 そして驚きました…。この曲は冒頭からソロを担当している楽器があるのですが…、それはチェロでした。そして中間部にはピアノのソロが入っていました。 当時はRetrospective【わたしと河内ユイコ氏による、ピアノとチェロのユニット】を結成しておらず、ましてユイコちゃんと出逢ってもいません。 ですので、当時は一気に作り上げた曲だったこともあり、チェロのソロパートも、コンピューターの"打ち込みチェロの音"で代用して保存していました。 その曲が、今を待っていたかのように目に飛び込んできた。このことに興奮し、曲をすぐにユイコちゃんに送り、「今こそRetrospectiveの演奏で2020年版を作ろう！！」と言いました。すぐにユイコちゃんは自宅でソロのチェロを録音し、そのデータとわたしのピアノの録音を元に、【2020年版】そして【Retrospective版】として今回再収録しました。 「今を待っていた…。今だったんだな。」この想いに尽きます。 ............. この曲は、単に平和を願う優しく包み込む曲ではありません。 世の中に起こるすべてのことには意味があり、どんな現実や困難に対しても、自分たちの目で見て、感じ、そして受け止めて考える。そこから生まれる意識と行動こそが、我々人類と、そして地球上の全てのものを救済する手立てになるのではないかと思います。それを表現した力強い曲です。 すべての希望を乗せてクライマックスに向かうこの曲を、今公開できることに喜びを感じています。 題名は当時のまま。 【The end of the world is the beginning - 世界の終わりは始まりである】 是非お聴きいただけますと幸いです。 後藤望友 This piece was composed on June 6, 2014. I received a word from a dear friend of mine who lives in Hawaii saying, "Please compose a piece for peace". So I wrote a piece. It took me just about 3 days to write this large full orchestra piece. Once I finished it, I immediately sent a copy of this CD to Hawaii. After that, this song was forgotten somewhere in my heart. Time has passed and the end of April 2020, as you all know, the world we're living is having so many problems such as unprecedented confusion, fluctuation of values, stress of uncertain circumstances, and discrimination on a global scale due to unknown viruses, exposing the vulnerability of humanity. Meanwhile, I stayed at home and was organizing my past works. Then, suddenly this piece I wrote in 2014 caught my eyes. I thought this was some kind of message to me, so I listened back to it again first time after a few years. I was shocked... This piece has a main solo instrument that starts playing from the very beginning... it was the cello. In the middle section of the piece, there was a piano solo. At that time I wrote this song, Yuiko and I were not working together as Retrospective yet. We had not even met each other. For the first edition in 2014, the solo cello part was played by a programming cello sound. That piece I wrote back in 2014 just somehow jumped into my eyes as if it was waiting for it's best moment to be heard. I was thrilled about this and immediately sent the song to Yuiko and said, "We have to make the 2020 version of this piece right now as Retrospective's performance!!". Soon after, Yuiko recorded a solo cello at home, and based on that data and my piano recording, we re-recorded it as [2020 version] / [Retrospective version]. "It was waiting for this moment ... Now is that moment." .............  This piece is not just gentle piece that wishes for world peace. Everything that happens in the world is full of meaning. We must see, feel, and accept any reality or difficulty with our own eyes. I strongly believe that the consciousness and actions that result from it will be the means to save us humanity and everything on this earth. It is a powerful piece that expresses this. This song heads to the climax bringing all the hope. I am happy to reveal this piece now.
