ReubenMRU's video: 2022-07-18 - TrypFPV Racing - GOLD Level after 25 hours of practice in about 2 weeks

@2022-07-18 - TrypFPV Racing - GOLD Level after 25 hours of practice in about 2 weeks.
Okay so since December last year, I've been trying my hand with FPV drones... this means flying manual or in the drone jargon in 'Acro' mode... this is a completely different mode of flying... the controls are different on the remote control... for example, forward on the left stick on regular drones will make your drone fly up.... but with FPV drones, forward on the left stick means POWERRRR - and that will push your drone in whichever direction it's facing... . Similarly, forward on your right stick on regular drones will make the drone move forward, but on FPV drones will make your flight attitude pitch downwards... Now these are but a few differences... you can't really go backwards with FPV drones... I mean you can but if you do, your camera that is fixed will be pointing up to the sky and that is not something you usually want... . In any case, it's a brand new world... after a weekend of flying Acro in DJI's simulator on my phone/tablet, I've managed to try it on the actual drone (cue increase heart beat sounds) and I've got you a few videos already posted right here on my profile, the most notable one being the flight over the Corps de Garde... . Unfortunately, the fear of breaking the drone, coupled with the weather acting up and my busy time table I haven't been able to fly for the past 3 months... I did fly at Post LaFayette on the 28th of July, and realised how it was quite scary indeed... lol ... fortunately, a couple of weeks ago, i came across this SIMULATOR, with which i can plug my actual DJI FPV Combo transmitter (Radio controller) and practice my flying in the comfort of my room, that was the first time I managed to play on my laptop screen - much bigger - and also on my 27" screen - but for some reason I do prefer the smaller laptop screen for this - not sure why... . Anyway after 25 hours of practice - yeah it's quite addictive - I'm glad to say that I've finally upped my game, BIG TIME.... I can now aim through the squares quite decently - believe me the first two hours, you struggle to be able to go through them... and the way I'm flying now was unfathomable two weeks ago... Just like I can't imagine going faster than these... Today I've hit the GOLD RANK - you need 5 Gold medals in separate races to be able to achieve the rank... I also have 3 Platinum medals (higher than Gold) but there's not way I can clock two more to achieve that Platinum rank any time soon - if that's every feasible, it'll take me quite some time... . In any case, I'm fairly confident enough to share this with you now... Also I must add, that there's no way I can ever fly like that with my DJI FPV... I mean, you have to trade on safety to be able to go that fast... and I do not have enough confidence to fly like that physically - ONE HIT at those speeds and your drone is TOAST... I must have crashed a THOUSAND times in that simulator... imagine how much that would have cost me if it were with a real drone... anyway... Hope you enjoy this little mash up of my current High Scores.
