The compression ratio stands at 11:1 with bore and stroke of 70mm x 90mm. This is mated to a constant mesh six-speed transmission. The Classic 350 has a 346cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder twinspark engine nested in a single downtube chassis using the engine as a stressed member. It produces 19.8bhp of power and 28Nm of torque and is mated to a constant mesh five-speed transmission. The compression ratio stands at 8.5:1 with bore and stroke of 70mm x 90mm. The fuel delivery in the Jawa 42 is taken care by a fuel-injection system whereas the Classic 350 uses a 29mm constant vacuum carburettor. While the Classic 350 can be kicked or thumbed to a start, the Jawa 42 is electric-start only. Dimensions and weight: The Jawa 42 measures 1369mm wheel-to-wheel, and is 1165mm tall. It has a kerb weight of 170kg. The Classic 350 has a wheelbase of 1370mm, height of 1090mm and kerb weight of 192kg. The Jawa 42 has a 14-litre fuel tank and the Classic 350 13.5 litres. Suspension: The Jawa 42 has telescopic hydraulic forks at the front and twin shock hydraulic with gas canister at the rear. The Classic 350 also comes with telescopic forks at the front and twin gas charged shock absorbers with five-step adjustable preloads at the rear. Brakes: While the Jawa 42 comes with a 280 mm disc with a floating caliper and ABS at the front and 153mm drums at the back, the Classic 350 is stopped by 280mm and 153 mm discs at the front and back, respectively. Tyres: The Jawa 42 is shod with 18-inch 90/90 tyres at the front and 17-inch 120/80 tyres at the rear. The Classic 350 has 19-inch 90/90 tyre at the front and 18-inch 110/90 tyre at the rear. Colours: The Jawa 42 has six paint schemes: Hally’s Teal, Galactic Green, Starlight Blue, Lumos Lime, Nebula Blue and Comet Red. The Classic 350 comes in seven paint jobs: Lagoon, Ash Silver, Chestnut, Black, Redditch Red, Redditch Green and Redditch Blue. At present, it has two special editions: the Gunmetal Grey and Classic Signals in Airborne Blue and Stormrider Sand. Price: The Jawa 42 is priced at ₹ 1.55 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) while the Royal Enfield Classic 350 costs ₹ 1.51 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
